In its bid to promote excellence and community service, Africa Young Leaders (AYL Universe) has awarded three prestigious personalities in Southern Kaduna with awards of excellence. The awardees are:
Engr. Joseph A. Ciroma, FNSE, who was awarded as the Transformational Philanthropist, due to his philanthropic work in Southern Kaduna, especially in the areas of light restoration (which earned him the names “Mai Transformer” and “Hasken Southern”), water provision through constructions of boreholes as well as provision of many amenities to different communities in Southern Kaduna). Engr. Ciroma is the former General Manager of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).
Also awarded was Hon. Augustine Beguwa, who was awarded as the Humanitarian Icon, due to his humanitarian work in Southern Kaduna. Some of his works include the provision of relief materials to communities affected by crisis, provision of vehicles and motorcycles to different individuals as part of entrepreneurship set-up, restoration of light to communities in darkness, as well as many other humanitarian projects. Hon. Beguwa is a former aspirant, House of Representatives and a retired officer with the Nigerian Immigration Service.
The last award was presented to Hon. Ado Dogo Audu, who is popularly known as Ado Hot. He was presented with the Icon of Peace award, which is due to his contribution in peace-building in Southern Kaduna, especially during the times of crisis and communal conflicts, which have affected many people and displaced many homes. Hon. Ado is a former member of the House of Representatives, as well as a former Kaduna State Commissioner for Water Resources.
The awards were presented during the public presentation and launch of the book; “A ROAD TO SUCCESS FOR TODAY’S YOUTHS” by ENOCH ISRAEL on November 21, 2024, at the Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan-Waya.
Also at the event included; Dr. A. A. Aku (provost, Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan-Waya), Professor Muhammad S. Rabiu (Dean, Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, Nasarawa State University, Keffi), Dr. Samuel Oni (Associate Professor and Head of Department, Public Policy and Administration, Miva Open University, Abuja), HRH Rev. (Dr.) Habila Saidu (Chief of Godogodo Chiefdom, who was ably represented by the Secretary to the Chiefdom), Hon. Peter Tanko Dogara (Chairman, Jema’a LGA, Kaduna State, who was represented by Hon. Jessy Isaac, Councilor, Asso Ward), religious leaders, and other well wishers.
Africa Young Leaders (AYL UNIVERSE) is an agency that trains and inspires African youths into becoming men of valor in the society. AYL UNIVERSE mentors and guides youths into realizing their full potential, thereby reducing nuisance and producing great leaders in Africa.
